Paul Joseph Howes passed at his home on February 14th, 2018 in Langley, B.C. due to cancer. He was 79 years old.

Paul was born on July 14th, 1938 in Ottawa, Ontario. He completed a Bachelor of Education in 1966 from The University of British Columbia and later went on to complete a Masters Degree in Education from Western Washington University. He started his first two years of teaching in Port Alberni and soon moved to North Vancouver where he taught for six years. Paul completed most of his teaching career in Langley.

He was a counsellor at D.W. Poppy Secondary and then moved to Brookswood Secondary to become a Vice Principal. He retired in 1997 as Vice Principal at Langley Secondary School.

Paul was a people person and enjoyed being active. In his early years, he was an enthusiastic wrestling coach and wind surfer. Later in life, he was an avid table tennis player and competed in many tournaments.

He sang with a group called the "Four Swell Guys" and enjoyed outdoor activities with his grand children. In his retirement, Paul and Doreen enjoyed travelling to New Zealand annually to spend time with family. Paul was a kind, joyful person who was a positive influence in many people's lives.

Paul is survived by his wife Doreen and children Kathy (Randy), Craig and Murray (Luisa), his twin brother Peter, sisters Mary and Ann, three grand children and two great grandchildren.

In memory of Paul, the Howes family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" on Sunday, February 25th at 3:30 pm at the Langley Seniors Center located at 5464 203 Street, Langley.
