Phyllis HOGAN

June 15, 2005

HOGAN: Phyllis Leona (Buckle) -

October 12, 1916, on the family farm near Yorkton, Saskatchewan - June 15, 2005 Langley, BC, of complications from Parkinson's disease and a fall which broke her hip. Born to Harry Buckle and Martha

Anina (Carlson), Phyllis was the eldest of seven children. Pre-deceased by her husband Jack Hogan and daughter Gail (Macey) Doak, Phyllis is survived by her brother Jack Buckle, grandsons Scott Weeks, Sean Doak, & Chris Doak, along the numerous nieces & nephews.

After her retirement, Phyllis travelled extensively throughout the world, brining home stories and mementos of her trips. After 'retiring' from her travelling, she could always be seen making her way around langley and participating in community events. She was particularly supportive and proud of the work done by the Salvation Army, and her friends from the Army and the community were there to provide encouragement and support during her brief illness.

Phyllis moved into Rainbow Lodge in Langley twenty five years ago, where she made many friends and participated enthusiastically in all the Evergreen Hall events - pot luck dinners, bingos, and whatever else was taking place. Another favourite spot was the senior's Drop In Centre in Langley where she could be found sharing good times with friends and participating in events taking place there.

Phyllis' cheery manner, impish sense of humour and her enthusiasm for family, friends and her community will be sadly missed.
