Rae Myrna Purcell

Passed away peacefully on February 25, 2020 at age 80 years after a short battle with cancer. Rae was the beloved wife of Bob for 60 years, cherished mother to Victoria (Keith) Biggs, Calvin (Wanda) Purcell and Tyler (Jamie) Purcell. Adored grandmother to Jennifer, Robert, Daniel and Nathan and great grandmother to Tyla, Calla,Mia, Kianna. She will be missed by sisters Joy (Mike), Anita (Les), Pat and Gail, Doreen and Joyce and countless nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Brian and Rod.
Rae was involved in Brookswood's Langley Players since the 1980s as an actress and a playwrite. She wrote and directed Canada's Patio that was performed extensively at Expo 86. She was involved in the Langley Writer's
Guild and was a published author. She loved travelling, dancing, writing, cards and family with a passion. She loved the farmwhere she had lived since 1968, having celebrated many family dinners, Easter egg hunts, Christmas and barbecues. She recently celebrated her 80th birthday as a celebrity at Brookswood Hall in which she received an Oscar for Lifetime Achievement. Mom was a special lady and left behind much family, many friends and many great memories. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 6th at Henderson's Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy, Langley BC. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to dLangley Players.
