LANG, Raymond Gordon

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Raymond Gordon Lang, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Gordon was a strong man with a huge heart, with a smile and a helping hand for anyone who should need it. Gordon was a very intelligent man who could imagine and create just about anything. He was a master craftsman, mainly self taught, proud of his many inventions and creations. He enjoyed spending his spare time during retirement with his wife, family and friends. Gordon was very close with his grandson, James, designing and building habitats for James many pets. His grandchildren will cherish his quick sense of humour, great camping trips with "the best" pancakes and endless rounds of cookies and milk at grandpa's house.

Gordon was born in Didsbury, Alberta, to Gottlieb & Anna Lang. He passed away peacefully with his family present on Oct.16, 2008 due to complications from open heart surgery.

At 16 years of age Gordon began working for Western Water Wells in Calgary, Alberta and remained with the company for 32 years. He purchased the company in 1979 and retired three years later. Gordon made many life-long friends during his career as a driller, he was a friend to many and had many friends whereever he went.

Gordon moved from Calgary to Langley in 1959 with his wife, Yvonne, and daughter, Gordine, they resided in Langley for 47 years, moving to Agassiz, B.C. in 2006.

Surviving Gordon are his wife of 57 years, Yvonne, his daughter Gordine, grandson James, granddaughter and grandson-in-law Candy and Scott Scheifele, their three children Carace, Seven and Alexiah of Kamloops B.C.

He is also survived by three sisters & brothers-in-law Jean & Art Coates of Didsbury, AB, Shirley & Jim Brown and Karen & Barry Krall of Olds, AB, two brothers-in-law Charles Rear & Bernard Rear of Shaunovan Sask., one sister-in-law Marlene Rear of Moosehorn, Manitoba, one aunt, Alice Rowland of Red Deer, AB, a very special long-time friend Pauline Pellerin and family, also many nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Gordon was predeceased by his infant daughter, Lynne, his parents Gottlieb & Anna, his brother Howard and his wife Leah, and infant sister Orpha. Also brother-in-law Bruce Rear and three nephews.

Burial will take place at Mayton Cemetary in Alberta on Oct.22, 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held in Langley, B.C. on Oct. 25th, 2008 at Andreas Restaurant 20227-56th Ave from 1-4pm for family and friends.
