NEW: Richard Maurice, born October 27, 1924 passed away at Langley Memorial Hospital, August 26, 2004 after a brief illness.
Rich was predeceased by his loving wife Bette in August, 2001.
Rich leaves to mourn and miss him dearly daughter, Pat (Bob) Forsyth, son Ray (Sue) New; grandchildren Paul, Elaine (Ric), Dave, Dan (Daneel), Raymond (Krista); great grandchildren Kayden, Hunter. Sister, Margaret Upton; brother, Lawrence (June) New; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Rich was a retired member of the Vancouver Police Dept. with 36 years of service. He played for years on the Police Dept. soccer team. He was also an avid swimmer and frequented the WC Blair pool.
No service by request. A special thanks to all the staff of the Critical Care Unit at the Langley Hospital for their comfort and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Langley Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice in Rich's memory. The family invites you to a memorial luncheon on Saturday, September 4, 2004, 12-5 p.m. at the family home.
