STRAW, Richard (Dick) Dick passed away March 2 at Langley Memorial Hospital. Dick was born November 25, 1915 in Maxim, SK. He was predeceased by his parents William H. and Elizabeth and sister Kathleen (Ellens). Dick is survived by brother Wilfred (Blanche), nephews Harry (Lauretta) and William (Lorraine), cousins, great nieces and nephews Kimberley (Ryan) Peek, Kent (Jane) Ellens, Mark (Catherine) Ellens and Colleen (Douglas) Barton and treasured great great nephews and nieces Matthew and Nicholas Ellens, Lucas and Camille Barton, Nicholas and Clara Peek and Jake and Bryce Ellens. Richard will be dearly missed by his special friend Pat Potts. The Straw family arrived in Langley in 1920 and Dick enjoyed his status as a Langley pioneer. He worked and lived in Langley, except for the war years. He served with the Canadian Scottish Regiment and participated in the D-Day invasion. Dick enjoyed travel with family and friends to various parts of the world. He was an active member of the United Church of Canada. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. A celebration of Dick's life will be held on Thursday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church, Fort Langley. Rev. Louise Cummings
