MORRIS, Roy Ernest

Roy passed away suddenly March 30, 2010 in Langley at the age of 83. He is pre- deceased by brothers Robert Morris and Elmer Morris. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Ede, and his sister Mildred, as well as sons Kevin (Carol), Brent, Randy (Irene), and stepdaughters Lavaine, Hope (Rod), and Billie. Known as Papa to his grandchildren, Roy also leaves behind Candra (Ryan), Drew (Shannon), Darcy (Laura), Jill (Chris), Eric, Justin, Jacqueline, Kathryn and great-granddaughter Julia.

A "gentle giant" Roy was devoted to his family and actively involved in his community, always prepared to lend a hand or share his amazing repertoire of stories about growing up and living in BC, as he participated in and watched our beautiful province’s development during his lifetime. Roy was a life member of the Langley Bowling Club, an amazing gardener, a helpful handyman, coach to the Vancouver Canucks from his armchair and a man who enjoyed making others laugh, especially his grand-children. Roy’s quiet strength, genuine compassion and useful advice will be missed immensely, as will his willingness to laugh and to make those around him happy.

There will be a small, private family service and in lieu of flowers please donate generously to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
