Oct 27, 1931 - Jan 16, 2018
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Stewart Gammie's sudden passing at the age of 86. He died peacefully, likely from a stroke.

Stewart remained as sharp as a tack and in good spirits until the end. He was a true gentleman and the best whistler in the world. We will fondly remember his wonderfully strong and gentle hugs, his dry wit and quick laugh, his deep and enduring kindness, the Werther's he always had in his pocket, and his basso profundo. He lives on in our love for one another, our stubbornness, our love of a good story, and his much-loved and much-used recipe for shortbread.

Stewart leaves behind a large and boisterous clan: the love of his life and partner of 57 years, Heather; his children, Fiona (Michael) Bayrock, Neil (Emilia) Gammie, Alyson (Dean) Seale, and Gael (John) Gower; his grandchildren, Teri, Jonathan, Dessa (Reace), Jesii (Ivan), Devon, Kirsten (Jesse), Reed (Breanna), Raegan, and Finleigh; along with many other relatives and good friends. He will be missed deeply.

At Stewart's request, there will be no funeral. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined; instead, please have a "wee dram" in his name or make a donation to the charity of your choice.
