Aug 16, 1944 - Mar 29, 2018
It's with sadness, we announce that Terry Castle of Langley, BC, passed away peacefully at the Langley Memorial Hospital, at the age of 73.

Terry was predeceased by his parents, Kathryn (Kae) and Wallace Castle. He is survived by his wife/partner of almost 30 years Joan Mowles, children Stacey Valgardson (Troy) of Calgary, Alberta; Kelly Castle (Amanda) of Airdrie, Alberta; step-children Jason Mowles (Jenine Grass) of Langley, British Columbia; Julia Jordan (Jason) of Richmond, British Columbia.  Grandchildren; Myah and Ava Castle, James, Josh and Jayden Jordan, and Dilin Grass.

He is also survived by siblings: Dave Castle of Beulah, Manitoba; Jim Castle (Jan), Marrieann Kilborn and Tom Castle all of Calgary, Alberta; as well as nieces/nephews: Jacquie Revak (Grant), Jocelyn Brown (Blair), Vanessa Curle (Ross Richards) and Jonathon Curle, and their children.

Terry was born in Virden, Manitoba. He grew up in the Hamiota, Manitoba area until he was in his early twenties. As an adult, he moved to Winnipeg, Ottawa, Calgary, Creston, and settled in Airdrie, Alberta. He resided there until 1989 and then moved to his paradise; Langley, British Columbia.

He enjoyed success as a Baker. He was the owner/operator of the Creston Valley Bakery for five years, before eventually taking his technical Baking talents to be sales rep for various Baking manufacturers. He worked for several large organizations; Maple Leaf Mills, Fisher Bakery Supplies, Weston International and Ready Bake Foods. His territory covered most of North America with emphasis on North West USA and BC. Terry was a networking genius. Before the invention of Social Media (Linkdin, Facebook), he was the originator of how to connect with people. His kindness, sense of humor, charisma and charm were second to none. His warm character and love of life were qualities to all that knew him.

He grew up as a huge Chicago Blackhawk fan. He was fortunate enough to witness the 'Hawks win the Stanley Cup 4 times, notably watching with his kids (on his daughter's couch) in 2013. He was fortunate to get to the old Chicago Stadium, and experience the "Roar", before it was torn down. His love of the 'Hawks was matched by his disdain for the Canucks' Sedin twins... No doubt he is smiling in heaven as the Sedins' announced their retirement a few days ago.

His passion for motor sports, took him to numerous cities and venues. Yearly trips with good friends to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Daytona International were cherished memories by all.

He will be greatly missed by his family, numerous acquaintances from home/work in the Vancouver area that were forged over the years, good friendships that originated from his second home in Maple Falls, Washington, lifelong connections from Manitoba and all others that he considered a friend.

Please join us for coffee and doughnuts, in a small informal celebration to remember him on April 29 from 12-4 pm at the Thirsty Penguin Grillhouse, 5700 Langley Bypass, Langley, BC. It's upstairs in the Canlan Ice Sports Twin Rinks.

The dress code will be anything Nascar related or Chicago Blackhawks apparel.
