August 30, 1954 - June 29, 2021
Thomas Carl Totland, age 66, born in Vancouver, BC, passed away suddenly on June 29, 2021. Predeceased by his wife Linda. Survived and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by daughter Lisa (Matthew) and son Joshua (Kim); and grandchildren Madelyne, Emma, Zachary, Nicholas and Ciaran. Survived by sister Sandra (Bruce), aunts Helen and Judy, and lots of cousins.
Thomas was born and raised in Vancouver where he grew up surrounded by cousins and frequently visited his grandparents on Vancouver Island. He attended David Thompson High School and later went on to build a successful career in Sheet Metal. During his career he worked for United Sheet Metal and Apollo Sheet Metal and had the privilege of being a part of building both GM Place and the dome for Expo 86, now known as Science World. Thomas loved fishing and baseball and spent many weekends outdoors.
Due to a medical disability, Thomas retired early and moved to Langley to be closer to family. During his retirement he loved to garden, bake and visit with family and friends. Each morning was not complete without a visit to the local Tim Hortons where he was known by name.
His family would like to extend a special thank-you to the firefighters at Langley Hall #7 as well as the staff at the Langley Memorial Emergency room for their excellent care. A celebration honouring his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in his honour to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps at https://timscamps.com/donate/
