Cherished husband of Diana, devoted father to Dave (Tammy), Helen (Jeff) and Rob (recently deceased), and doting "Gramps" to Ava, Stella, Van, Marley and Mac. Tom will be sorely missed by his sister Rita and extended family in Canada, South Africa, Australia, the UK and US.
After leaving Cape Town, Tom settled in Vancouver in 1960 and worked as a welder/millwright. He married; three children ensued and then it was agreed that travelling the world for a few years would be a good idea. Upon returning, Tom brought home a piglet for the garden to encourage us to move to a hobby farm and we settled in Langley. Tom always had many interests and varied projects on the go including his farming activities, beekeeping, hunting, fishing, camping and was renowned for his beer making. He was never happier than when he was designing and building one of his inventions and banging bits of metal in the garage.
Tom was a gentle man with a great sense of humour and super dry wit, very astute and extremely protective of his family; he loved the antics of all his "favourite" grandchildren. He has left us with many happy memories.
