SMITTEN, VERA IRENE - Having lived fully, loved deeply and laughed often for 95 years, Mom died December 14th, 2006 in North Vancouver. Born Vera Irene Hunt on Sept. 27th, 1911 in Middlesborough, England she immigrated with her parents to Alberta where she grew up, met and married the handsome Walter Smitten. Mom's memory lives in her smiles, her bright laughter, the cookies no one could match and her paintings that are now treasures. She lives too in those who came after her - her daughters Lorie (Chuck) and Pat (Gordy), her 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her sister, Dorene (Rob) her brother, Peter (Gwen) and brother-in-law Bill. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years; her sister Thelma and her grandson, Donny. Her family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at the North Shore Kiwanis Care Centre. A Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27th at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, B.C. In lieu of flowers a donation in Vera's name may be made to the North Shore Kiwanis Care Centre, 2444 Burr Place, North Vancouver, B.C. V7H 3A5
