THIERSTEIN, Victoria "Vicky" May nee McGregor May 24, 1946 - July 19, 2008. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vicky Thierstein after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, her "best friend" and brother, extended family and many, many devoted friends. Vicky enjoyed the simple things in life: good friends, good coffee, good phone conversations, good laughs, her dog "Buddy", gardening, hunting for treasures and sharing with others. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Vicky will always be remembered for her strength, determination, generosity and willingness to help others. She was a real friend.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Cilliers, Dr. Chapman, Debbie (the sister mom never had) & Louie Picard, Jim & Loretta Huszar, Gord & Bonnie Jewel, Marilyn Farquhar, Theresa Guigueto, Paula Jakeman, Don & Lynne Burr, Maureen Airey, Kelly & Janet Floris and Langley Hospice, to name only a few that were always there for mom. Knowing that you were only a phone call away to help and assist mom made all the difference. We knew that she was well looked after. No flowers by request of the family. If desired, donations to Langley Hospice in Vicky's memory would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of Vicky's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at her home at 20210-28th Avenue, Langley, B.C.
