Wendy Noreen McGovern (nee Henning)

August 21, 1957 - July 8, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wendy.
Wendy came from humble beginnings. Born to single mother Inez Carlson in Duncan, BC. Wendy was the guiding light and centre of our family. She was a wonderful, generous, kind, caring, compassionate, selfless and inclusive person with an infectious laugh.
Loving wife and best friend to Tod. Good friend to first husband Mike Weller. Devoted mother to Melissa (Sean) and Brett. In her grandson's words, best Nana ever to Alexis, Ava, and Jack. Caring sister to Sheri (Tom), Dave (Cindy), Bill and youngest sister Karen. She was truly loved by her many friends and family.
Always engaging and entertaining the children of her siblings and many friends. There was always room at the table for anyone on Christmas Day or those in need of a friend. Wendy worked in the banking industry for 32 years, where her patience and compassion led to her working with the elderly until her passing. We are all better people having known Wendy and are devastated by her loss. The hole in our hearts created by the passing of Wendy can never be filled.
There will be a Celebration of Life and pot luck honouring Wendy at the family home on August 17, 2019 starting at 2 pm. Hug your loved ones! In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
