June 29, 1935-June 15, 2017

Al passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Thursday June 15th with his family by his side. Al spent his first 14 years of his life in the district of Elrose, Sask., moving to Langley in 1949 with his mother on the sudden passing of his father. He graduated from Langley Senior Secondary in 1954. Al worked two years in the Bank of Commerce, before attending UBC, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He spent 7 years working at Canada Packers. During this time he earned his Certified General Accounting Degree. After living in Calgary for 1 year he moved his family back to B.C. in 1969 and went into public accounting for the rest of his working years. Al enjoyed immensely his Newlands golf friends, and also working on his small acreage in Brookswood. Al is survived by his wife of 61 years Pat, his daughters Gail and Kari (Darin), along with his grandchildren Andrea, Tony, and Trevor, Alana, Cameron, and son in law John. He is predeceased by his son Grant and sisters Pat Turner and Margaret Bouclin. Flowers are gratefully declined. A memorial service will be held at St. George Anglican Church, 9160 Church St., Fort Langley, B.C. at 2:00 on June 26th.
