William MACKLIN

September 11, 2005

MACKLIN: William John, June 14, 1922 - September 11, 2005. Son of Langley's first chief of police.

Bill was born and lived in Murrayville all of his 83 years. He was one of the few old timers that was born, worked and died in Langley.

Bill was predeceased by his youngest son Shaun July 29, 1996. He is survived by his wife Alberta of 59 years. Granddaughter Ashleigh Laviolette. Daughter Margaret (Bill), son Brian & partner Shauna, son Gordie (Kari), sister Andrea, Nathan, William, Charlie, Ruthie, Jesse, Amy & Kylie.

Bill worked the dairy farm in Murrayville and ran dances in the community hall with the CKNW Radio Rascals. Worked in local construction and for the Langley School board until retirement. Bill was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and Irish jokes and linericks.

In lieu of flowers Bill has requested that a donation be made to the BC Vancouver's Children Hospital. Funeral will be held at the Sharon United Church in Murrayville, Friday, September 16th at 2:00 p.m.
