HST letter applauded

Finally someone has been able to articulate the feelings of the average citizen of this province.

Editor: Full marks to George McNutt (The Times, July 14) for his eye-opening view on the HST debate. Finally someone has been able to  articulate the feelings of the average citizen of this province.

The current Liberal government has changed its leader, not the shameless method of duping the public as evidenced by the “Save the HST” campaign paid for by our own hard-earned dollars.

This government must be held accountable for all the questionable monetary decisions that have resulted in the further erosion of our health care and educational systems. Don’t forget the endless array of taxes and levies used to extract money for transit, and BC Ferries’ management and directors’ ridiculous pensions (to name a few).

All these actions are pushing the average citizen of this province to the brink. The Liberals must be turfed from office at the next opportunity. They simply cannot be trusted to be honest and responsible to the electorate.

John Marchant,
