Is there enough demand for Fort development?

Editor: I couldn’t agree more with Andy Schildhorn’s statement (The Times, July 5).

I was born and raised in Fort Langley and slowly have seen it go from a village to part of Metro Vancouver.

People move here for the quaintness of the village, they then want all the amenities such as a Starbucks, McDonalds recreation centres, etc.

The retailers of Fort Langley come and go. There are always empty shops. I don’t see the need for such a large building on the corner of Glover and Mavis.

Do they have people willing to rent these offices and shops, or will they sit empty for months as well?

We, the people of Fort Langley, should have the right to a say, not just a show-and-tell at the community hall.
