Langley Township should help fund Seniors' Centre, or else build some more of them

The Seniors' Centre in Langley City is well-used and much-needed, by residents of both Langley City and Langley Township.

Editor: Re: “Langley Township hesitating at contributing funding towards Langley City Seniors Resource Centre,” (The Times, Apr. 17).

I cannot believe that our Township council is hesitating to help fund the Langley City Seniors Resource Centre.  This is a much-needed and well-used facility.

If our council cannot bring themselves to approve this funding, then provide proper seniors’ facilities in Walnut Grove, Fort Langley, and Aldergrove. Take a look at how Surrey runs their facilities and programs — they are well-run and always busy.

We have many seniors in our community, and there are many more to come. Get off the pot Langley Township, and either contribute towards LSRS or provide facilities throughout your jurisdiction.
