Editor: We are currently faced with an upcoming election.
It has come to my attention that there are certain councillors who are willing to violate the public engagement process that has been embraced by the TOL over the past few years.
People count on public engagement to make their views known and share in the process of public planning.
July 23, led by Councilor David Davis, a motion was carried to re-open the Williams neighborhood plan, which recently passed third reading and has been scrutinized under the huge process of public engagement in order to get to this place.

Coun. Davis decided that the small Williams area needs an additional five-acre passive park in addition to the WNP that is already 20 per cent park and green space (40 acres currently dedicated to parks and green space). There is also in place, a 96-acre passive park designated east of 216 Street (northeast corner near the highway) as a passive park. It is right across the street from the Williams neighbourhood.
Coun. Davis wants to re-open the whole thing and negate the whole process of public engagement in which all of the TOL had their say.
Shame on him and shame on the councillors who supported the motion — Arnason, Richter, Fox and Long.
Remember them at election time. They disregard the rights and input of the citizens of the Township of Langley.
