Letter: Development brings many benefits

Editor: In Laurie Coelho’s letter to the editor, (the Times , July 7) she’s pretty adamant that she doesn’t want to see either development in Fernridge/Brookswood or any future truck traffic on 216 Street in Walnut Grove.

Editor: In Laurie Coelho’s letter to the editor, (the Times, July 7) she’s pretty adamant that she doesn’t want to see either development in Fernridge/Brookswood or any future truck traffic on 216 Street in Walnut Grove.

But not everyone disagrees with Township Council’s decision on moving ahead with these projects.

Some agree with this much-needed change. Langley needs to grow and be developed, and with that comes growing pains.

I can understand that these changes may affect her negatively, but without growth, Langley will be stagnant and we won’t attract industry, businesses and resources.

I’ve lived in a developing area (Willoughby) for 13 years and yes, some days I felt my peace slide with all the construction buzzing around, but I also know it will enrich Langley and the lives of many.

I’ve seen the positive and when I look past my own temporary inconveniences, I can see the future of Langley with more homes, schools, parks and roadways to enjoy for all.
