Letter: Fantastic night of jazz at Porter’s Bistro

Editor: I just wanted to thank the Times for the write up on the jazz night (at Porter’s Bistro). My dad is 86 and a huge jazz fan. He has attended jazz festivals all his life with my mom. He recently took us to see a fellow in Vancouver last year who he has watched for years. The son and grandson were performing as well.

We took him (to Porter’s) last night and sat right up front. It was a great evening and very enjoyable to watch them encourage the young musicians who signed up. The guest singer was great and a fellow on the harmonica surprised us.

The food was very good and we enjoyed being able to have wine with it.

We might never have known about this great evening if I hadn’t seen the article a few days prior to Wednesday’s event.
