Clearly, influence was involved in the poor display and tirades of Councillors Bob Long and David Davis at the Feb. 24 council meeting regarding Coulter Berry.
Until now, Bob Long has had a public wishy washy stance on Coulter Berry, but on Monday he was like a bull seeing red.
His displeasure on the subject was hidden behind a weird talking point about lowering the corner of the building.
Really? Send back the design and draw out the process to lower the corner, regardless of the grade of the land?
Considering Long is chair of the Township’s Heritage Advisory Committee, where the vocal chair of the Langley Heritage Society also sits (and is behind the misleading yellow hand movement), he has clearly been influenced.
Given his weak and bizarre complaints of the proposal, this is clearly a Fort Langley issue, and not a development issue.
I guarantee that Mr. Long would not have an issue with Coulter Berry’s corner height if this building was in his home town of Aldergrove.
And then there is Mr. Davis’s ramblings of process and bylaws that sounded like they were a copy-and-paste from the Facebook site dedicated to the spread of misrepresentation on the very topic of process and bylaws.
Either that, or Mr. Davis has been reading former disgruntled mayor Rick Green’s atrocious sour grapes blog.
Do your own research and the truth will prevail. I assume that is why Mr. Long didn’t argue those points in voting no to go to a public hearing!
I don’t appreciate elected officials who are clearly the puppets of other people’s agendas, or elected officials who have vendettas against the village that is the Birthplace of B.C.
We need officials who understand process, and who have the best in mind for all of Langley, and not just their own corner of Langley.
