Letter: Langley man wants the real Canada back

Letter to the editor related to the federal election campaign.

Dear voter:

I want my country back.  I want less prisons; more senior's homes.  Less omnibus bills; more respect for democracy.  Less PMO, more science.  Less bombing missions, more peacekeeping missions.  Less tax-free savings account room; more tax-free child benefits.  Less subsidies to oil producers; more subsidies to transit builders.  Less government advertising, more aid for refugees.  Less government secrecy; more government transparency.  Less fear mongering; more nation building.  Less resource exploitation; more environmental conservation.  Less personal attacks on political opponents; more negotiations with provincial governments.  Less defunding of Canadian culture; more independent foreign policy. Please, can I have my country back?

David Truman, Langley
