Dear Editor,
I wish to get a couple of things said. The first being that editor Bob Groeneveld of the Langley Advance is, in my opinion, not only an excellent journalist, but has a brilliant mind. Irrespective of the topic he tackles, whether it be on life itself or the political scene, he always has an articulate, knowledgeable view of most situations.
My second comment applies to almost all the ads I see concerning the real estate market, and the ads that urge us to buy various properties.
Why is it that the word “ONLY†is used prior to any price? Some homes perhaps warrant that description, but most do not. For instance: “An outstanding rural property in S. Langley ONLY $7 million.â€
I suppose, however, that it all depends on your income and wealth.
Unfortunately, I am in the age and income bracket where the descriptive adjective ONLY applies to the items I may buy from Penny Pinchers, for instance the pants, coats, and things I need, and not on most real estate ads.
But it is all a matter of perspective, I guess.
