Letter: Relay for Life team looking for support at book sale fundraisers

Editor: When the Relay for Life began in Langley in 2004, it was also the year Gallery Gals Relay team was formed by Brenda Alberts.

This year, the Relay for Life is being held on June 3, from 6 p.m. until midnight.

If you have never attended this walk, we highly recommend that you stop by and walk a lap in support and so that you can experience this incredible event.

Time has brought some changes, including new team members, but the purpose of the team has steadfastly remained the same since the beginning.

Our purpose is to raise money for the Canadian Cancer society so they can find a cure for cancer. Each member of our team has fund raised individually, but in our determination to raise as much as possible, we are also holding two book sales in May.

The first one is on Monday, May 23 in the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery’s front yard, during the Fort Langley May Day celebration and will also included the sale of jewelry and homemade treats and Tim Hortons coffee.

The second one will be on May 28 at 21779 52A Ave., in conjunction with the McGill Community Garages sale. We have hundreds of books and hope the community will come explore the possibilities at our fundraisers between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both dates.

Kari Medos,

Langley
