I started Aarts Nursery in spring 1970. I have grown many trees over the years and growing trees was my living.
Over the years I have grown thousands of trees and many times I have told my customers planting trees is a good investment. It takes many years to grow beautiful, good trees.
Recently, there was a sad story about the Tara Farms in Milner.
It has saddened me to see the remaining stumps left. These trees were well over 100 years old. It would have been nice to preserve five or perhaps 10 acres set aside for a park.
Even the name Tara Park would have been very appropriate. As you can see, not everybody appreciates trees. Perhaps it would have been nice that the Township of Langley had better planning.
Good planning is very important and that is what we need.
Looking back already with the development of Willoughby, with houses close together, narrow streets and no parking space, where is the green space, where people — parents with children — can enjoy a walk?
Perhaps a park with a couple of ponds where birds can come and fish can swim. Perhaps a Tara Park is still a good idea.
