Editor: I was hit by a car while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk on Sunday, Feb 18. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. The first responders (firefighters, police, and paramedics) were outstanding as usual.

But, for me, the real heroes were the Good Samaritans. People I’ve never met before took it upon themselves to call 911, track down the car that hit me, stay with me and keep me calm until the paramedics arrived, and even make sure my dog was OK.

I want to say thank you to these people. You have renewed my faith in the kindness of strangers and make me appreciate the amazing community we live in. I cannot even express the amount of gratitude I feel to these people who went above and beyond for me that day. I hope you know how much it meant to me.

I didn’t get to say thank you at the time, but I appreciate your kindness more than you even imagine. I hope life smiles on each and every one of you.

Sandy Anderson,

Langley
