Letter: Theatre study overestimates needs of community

Editor: To quote the Langley Times story, “Langley City is looking into the feasibility of bringing a small theatre to its downtown core.

The results of the $50,000 study shows the theater would seat 600 to 650 with room for another 200 seats.”

When comparing other local theatres in Surrey, New Westminster, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, I can hardly describe 600-800 seats as small.

Those other communities harbour theatres of approximately 300-400 seats (sometimes not filled).

I’m not sure who they paid to do this study, but, I’d love to make $50,000 to throw some erroneous figures together.
