Dear Editor,
On Sunday morning I went to visit a family friend in Langley Memorial Hospital. I am in shock at the pre-wartime conditions of the brand new emergency department. It looks like a factory of human beings.
The lobby looks calm and controlled but the minute you enter the actual wards (labelled “Zones”) it’s a whole different world.
The hallways are filled with patients on what might as well be stretchers.
There’s stuff everywhere.
Apparently it’s just as bad upstairs.
I read on line that there are 188 beds in Langley Memorial Hospital. That’s not enough for our current population.
What are we going to do when 10 residential towers are built in the No Frills parking lot.
