Letters: 20 Questions a hit with voters

Dear Editor,

I want to thank the Langley Advance for presenting the list of 20 questions to candidates. I found the questions relevant and the answers helpful in learning about the positions of the candidates.

I am particularly concerned about the mess made of Willoughby. I am concerned this could happen in my neighbourhood also.

I have concerns that Surrey’s nearby Campbell Heights project is creating “developer” opportunities in Brookswood/Fernridge. I am quite unhappy to see my taxes rise to pay for infrastructure related to increased density, when it is surely the developers and businesses who enrich themselves, and the new residents who inhabit their homes and use their services who should pay the full cost of the infrastructure they want.

I see my tax increase is flowing directly into the developers’ pockets as a subsidy from current residents for which we receive absolutely no benefit and certainly some loss of my environment and lifestyle.

Hal Marsden, Fernridge
