Letters: Langley Meadows crosswalk could use a coat of paint in any colour

Langley Meadows parent April Ferguson would like to see the Township spend part of its traffic calming budget on a crosswalk near her children’s school that was patched but not repainted.

Editor: I have been reading about the discussion around rainbow crosswalks in the Township.

I walk my four kids to school (most days) in the Langley Meadows area of Langley.

It has been over a month since school began and the crosswalk at the four-way stop (at 197 Street and Willoughby Way) hardly resembles one.

There was paving done in the summer and into the fall, and one part of the crosswalk that was paved over has not been repainted.

I am glad the Township is not just shelling out money for a rainbow crosswalk.

How can they look at spending more money for rainbow crosswalks when ours looks like it does?

That being said, if the Township decides to brightly paint the crosswalks after all, consider painting the rainbow at our four-way stop in Langley Meadows.

Maybe that will actually get vehicles to stop at the stop signs and aid in protecting pedestrians that use this crosswalk daily.
