Letters: Teachers not to blame for failed talks

Dear Editor,

On Saturday the talks stalled. Why?

Was it because the BCTF team refused to make significant concessions? No!

Was it because the BCPSEA team made few changes to their position? Yes!

For BCPSEA to continue to demand that the BCTF agree to clause E80 is absolutely incomprehensible, and in fact deplorable. That clause would completely disregard two BC Supreme Court decisions, both being clear BCTF victories.

The premier and her government need to get back to the real world. Kids, parents, teachers, and support staffs want to be in class.

Obviously, not enough of Christy Clark's people seem to care. Shame, shame, shame!
