Dear Editor,

As your representative for Cloverdale-Langley City, I am pleased and proud to share the good news in Budget 2019 to grow our economy and support Canadians from every walk of life.

Today I will focus on our investment in housing affordability.

Everyone needs a safe and affordable place to call home, but today, too many Canadians are being priced out of the housing market.

For ten years, Conservative politicians did nothing to address housing affordability – pushing home ownership further out of reach and putting household debt on the rise. With Budget 2019, our Government is making significant investments to help Canadians find an affordable place to call home.

The new First-Time Home Buyer Incentive will make home ownership more affordable for first-time buyers by allowing them to lower their monthly mortgage payments.

A more flexible and increased Home Buyers Plan will mean that Canadians can withdraw an additional $10,000 from their RRSP.

By cracking down on the people who break the rules, we will make housing more affordable for everyone else. Additionally, increased funding for the Rental Construction Financing Initiatives will help build thousands of new rental units across the country.
