Pleased that good service is noticed

People in retail business try hard to keep customers satisfied.

Editor: I would like to personally thank Roland Seguin (The Times, Aug. 16) for commenting on the great service he received at the stores he went to, and to The Times for publishing it.

My store was not one of those listed, but being in retail I appreciate the happiness and gratification of a consumer. It makes me ecstatic to know that people notice great service.

As a retail manager, I witness many people coming in being incredibly rude to my employees. Sales associates in turn give them great service and maintain calm while serving them.

It seems to me that consumers now expect to be treated like royalty no matter what, and to be quite honest, I agree. But as an employee, I would also like to be treated with the same respect.

No matter what your age, your looks or anything else superficial, everyone deserves a great smile and a pleasant greeting when they walk into a store,

Do not take offence to us greeting you, just smile and say “I’m good thanks, just browsing.” I am just happy to know that someone has noticed good service and appreciates it.
