Roads are in poor condition

Developers have an obligation to restore roads to the condition they were in prior to work taking place.

Editor: I would like to have someone from the Township go out and examine the road surface remediation done on 86 Avenue,  between 204 and 205 Streets.

The developer has connected the services for the lots and now has laid a topping of asphalt into the cuts made in the pavement.  The new asphalt follows the contour of the cuts in the old road surface, making it very bumpy.

This is not how the road was, and I would like it returned to the shape it was in.

My taxes from days gone by have paid for this road to be in a condition that it was in  — smooth and free from major bumps.

When I look around at 84 Avenue in front of the new Yorkson Middle School, Ellis-Don did the construction work. The  road there is still a mess. The 208 Street corridor from 83 Avenue almost to 72 Avenue is also in need of the developers making good on their commitment of returning the road surfaces to what they were, in conjunction with the Township. Bonds should not be redeemed until these concerns have been properly addressed and fixed.

We expect to have our roads returned to the conditions that they were in prior to developers coming in and tearing things up.  Tax dollars and taxpayers are not happy with the current conditions that we have been left with the past number of years.
