Speed enforcement idea for 16 Avenue

A system which issues tickets based on licence plate readings is proposed.

Editor: Re: The call for action on 16 Avenue, after yet more fatalities.

Many years ago I put forth to the Township that the immediate answer to speed conformity on 16 Avenue was a SPECS radar system, as used in many parts of Europe.

It works like this. A plate reading camera is place at 200 Street, and another is located at 272 Street.

If you travel that stretch of road within a preset time, you automatically get a ticket by mail, as you exceeded the average speed of 60 km/h.

It would lead to instant conformity and be fully automatic. I wish the Township would have explored this option, instead of a few reader boards that no one takes any notice of.
