TransLink should use funds wisely

TransLink must use its scarce funds wisely, and look carefully at Pattullo Bridge replacement plans.

Editor: Give me a break. Someone take hold of that group of people at TransLink and give them all a good shake.

They just finished telling everyone that they have no money to expand transit services to those of us living south of the Fraser in Surrey and Langley, even though they keep accepting our hard-earned tax dollars.

However, they think they have the money to build a new six-lane Pattullo Bridge. With what — buttons? This of course could just be a “smoke and mirrors” effort to play one project against the other, as we know they are so adept at doing.

TransLink has no money for transit services, but they managed to come up with $500,000 to support a bike lane in downtown Vancouver. Stop with the “pie in the sky” ideas and start focusing on providing and improving services to  the people who are paying the bills, and your bloated salaries.

There is only so much money to go around.  Use it wisely.
