The Aldergrove Kodiaks had a 5-3 record going into Wednesday’s home game against the visiting Surrey Knights at Aldergrove Arena, and are looking to keep pace with the Abbotsford Pilots (6-2) and Ridge Meadows Kodiaks (8-1) in the Pacific Junior Hockey League Harold Brittain standings.
The Kodiaks will be looking to snap a two-game losing skid, after losing 3-1 at home to the Port Moody Panthers on Sept. 28 and falling 6-1 to the Abbotsford Pilots last Friday at Abbotsford’s MSA Arena.
The Kodiaks trailed the Pilots 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 after 40 minutes of play before the Pilots added a sixth unanswered goal on a power play 2:10 into the final frame.
Aldergrove’s Matt Oliver snapped Pilots goaltender Jacob Crawford’s shutout bid with 1:53 to go in regulation.
The Kodiaks lost despite outshooting the Pilots 54-34.
