A pair of back to back losses has the Aldergrove Kodiaks mired in the bottom end of the Pacific Junior Hockey League statistics.

Aldergrove took a 3-6 drubbing at the hands of the Delta Ice Hawks in Ladner on Tuesday night, and followed that with a 1-4 loss to the Ridge Meadows Flames at Aldergrove arena Wednesday.

The Kodiaks have 17 points after 22 games (7-12-1-2).

The Kodiaks led the first two periods against the Hawks, with two unanswered goals by Arjan Cheema in the first period and another from Kyle Bosko in the second between a pair of goals from the Hawks. Assists came from Clayton Schroeder (2), Lucas Thompson and Matt Oliver.

This 3-2 lead came to a screeching halt in the third period when the Hawks scored four in a row for the 6-3 win.

The Hawks outshot the Kodiaks 35-22 and scored once on five power plays, while the Kodiaks failed to score on five power plays.

Th Kodiaks also took the lead Wednesday night with Oliver scoring the first goal halfway through the first period, assisted by Jake Dowell and Davin Padgham.

It was a short-lived lead, however, as the Hawks evened it up five minutes later, and scored two more in the second period for a 3-1 lead.

Aldergrove found penalty trouble in the third period, but managed to keep the visitors off the board with some great goaltending from Michael Laureate. The Kodiaks pulled Laureate late in the third period to try for an equalizer but it was the short-handed Flames which scored on the empty net.

Lauriente was named third star, stopping 31 of 34 shots that night.

The Flames outshot the Kodiaks 35-27 and scored on one of seven power plays.

Th Kodiaks next host the Abbotsford Pilots on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 7:15 p.m. at Aldergrove arena.

Aldergrove’s next game will be away at George Preston Rec Centre against the Langley Trappers, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m., followed by another away game at Planet Ice against the Ridge Meadows Flames, Friday, Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m. The Kodiaks return to Aldergrove arena on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 7:15 p.m., when they host the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
