The Aldergrove Kodiaks finally got on the winning side of the ledger in game three of the Junior B regular hockey season.
The Kodiaks defeated the Ridge Meadows Flames 5-2, Sept. 16 at Aldergrove Arena.
The Kodiaks outshot the Flames 30-26 and notched three goals in five power plays while the Flames were scoreless in five power plays of their own.
Kodiak Cameron Davitt, the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s “Rookie of the Year” last season, was the game’s first star, thanks to his goal and assist. Quinncy Leroux, third star, also scored a goal and an assist.
Kodiak Eric Callegari put the team up 1-0 in the first period, assisted by Davitt.
The Kodiaks scored a pair of power play goals in the second, and the Flames scored their only two of the night, to put the Kodiaks up 3-2 at the start of the third. Scorers for Aldergrove were Davitt and Leroux, with assists from Wyatt Versluis, Joshua Poitras, Brandon Dolby and Elijah Vilio.
Joshua Pollock scored a pair in the third, with a power play goal and an empty-netter in the dying minute. Assists came from Davin Padgham (2) and Leroux.
