Week one is in the books for the North Langley Community Football Association.
And the atom Bears were victorious as they trounced Chilliwack White 54-20 on Saturday at McLeod Park and followed that up with a 38-0 victory over the Chilliwack Red Giants in Chilliwack.
Jun McLean led the way with three touchdowns in the first game and then added another pair in the second victory.
Callum Middleton, Marcus Stang, Brian Pol and Mathieu Gale also scored touchdowns in the opener, while Tyson Hoy kicked a pair of two-point converts.
Koan Zieger, Jordan Williams and Jacob Evans all had solid games rushing the ball.
On the defensive side of the ball, Jaxon Stebbings made several spectacular tackles, including a couple which stopped would-be touchdowns for Chilliwack.
Aaron Liddle knocked down a pass attempt while Chris Morrison sacked the quarterback.
In the team's second game, Middleton, Gale, Stang and Williams all scored touchdowns.
In the association’s other games, the North Langley peewee team lost 33-0 to the Meadow Ridge Knights.
Brandon Brynjolfson was effective moving the chains with some strong runs against a stingy Knights defence.
Samuel Arachi also ran hard on the kick returns for the Bears.
The defence was led by Aiden Holloway, Emerson Block, Josh Patrick and Brodie Tarling.
In junior bantam action, the Abbotsford Falcons prevailed 34-31 as each team scored five touchdowns, but the visiting Falcons converted more touchdowns.
Pablo Wigwigan scored twice along the ground in his first-ever football game while Zander Bailey added a trio of touchdowns, including a kick return touchdown.
Bailey also got things done on the defensive side of the ball as he returned an interception 40 yards to set up a Langley score.
Caleb Paraboo, Jacob Stebbing, Ryan Barthelson and Jake Evans had solid tackling. Jake Evans also had a good game along the defensive line, consistently pressuring the Abbotsford quarterback.
The North Langley bantam team lost 21-8 to Meadow Ridge.
The team's lone touchdown was in the fourth quarter as quarterback Darian Pritchard connecting with receiver Ian Canning. Kenzie Oram then ran the ball in for the two-point convert.
The Bears nearly scored before the half as they were in the Knights red zone, but time ran out before they could get in the end zone or kick a field goal.
Colton Pearce and Won Jae Boo both had strong games running the ball.
Taryn Taylor, Cameron Sparkes, Tyler Aasen, Sang and Boo led a strong tackling effort.
And in midget action, it was the White Rock South Surrey Titans winning 44-7.
The game was the first for a North Langley midget team since 2009 while the Titans entered the game as the defending provincial champions.
Quarterback Braeden Pritchard and receiver David Fredo showed plenty of chemistry, hooking up for several plays, including an electrifying 60-yard play that moved the ball to the four-yard line.
Mook Kim then punched the ball in to the end zone for the team's lone score. Chris Baerg added the point after attempt.
The defence was led by the tackling of Eric Boomars, Damon Vassos, Alain Velo, Adrian Clements and Fredo.
