Langley Thunder's Athan Iannucci is guarded closely by New Westminster's Ian Hawksbee during the WLA season opener for both teams last week. New Westminster won the game 6-5 but that has been the only loss so far in three games for the Thunder. Iannucci had four goals and four assists on June 2 in a 15-8 Langley win over the Burnaby Lakers.

The Langley Thunder spread the offence around as seven players had at least three points and four of those had five or more as the senior A lacrosse squad erupted for 15 goals.

The Thunder defeated the Burnaby Lakers 15-8 at Burnaby's Bill Copeland Arena on Tuesday (June 2) night.

The win improves Langley to 2-1 in Western Lacrosse Association action and the team looks for a third straight victory — and first at home — when they host the Coquitlam Adanacs on June 3 at the Langley Events Centre.

The Thunder defeated the Adanacs 9-6 on May 30.

Against the Lakers, Langley scored five of the first six goals including two apiece from Anthony Malcom and Athan Iannucci.

The Thunder scored seven goals in the second period to put the game out of reach.

Iannucci (four goals, four assists), Pat Saunders (four goals, three assists), Malcom (three goals, three assists) and Alex Turner (three goals, two assists) led the offence.

Brendan Mykle-Winkler (one goal, two assists), Jacob Ruest (three assists), Quinn Smith (three assists), James Rahe (one goal, one assist) and Matt Kristiansen (two assists) also had multi-point games.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 35 of the 43 shots he faced.
