Balanced attack leads to Thunderbirds rout

Sixteen players find the score sheet in 12-1 victory for Fraser Valley

Langley’s Jacob Wright and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds routed the North Island Silvertips 12-1 on Oct. 1 in BC Major Midget Hockey action.

After blowing a three-goal lead with less than seven minutes remaining and having to settle for a single point, the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds responded by pumping home a dozen goals in a 12-1 victory.

The Thunderbirds faced the North Island Silvertips in a pair of weekend games in Richmond in BC Major Midget Hockey League action. The teams played to a 4-4 tie on Saturday before the rematch on Sunday.

Gage Goncalves had a hand in all four goals in game one, scoring twice and setting up both Dylan Stoltz and Carter Anderson.

Sunday’s contest saw Fraser Valley dominate as 16 of the 18 skaters registered at least one point.

Anderson, Andrew Sorenson, Jacob Wright and Justin Plett had two goals apiece while Stoltz and Carter Preston both finished with three assists.

Fraser Valley improved to 2-1-1-0.
