Bantam Thunder lose in tiebreaker

The Langley Thunder lost out on a playoff spot on a goal differential tiebreaker during the Trevor Wingrove bantam A1 lacrosse tournament in Coquitlam.

The Thunder went 2-1 including a dramatic 10-9 victory where Langley rallied from a 7-3 deficit and won the game with six seconds left.

In the opener, Langley doubled up Semiahmoo 6-3 with Daylen Calfa taking game MVP honours.

But playing the eventual tournament champs from Coquitlam in game two, the Thunder could not capitalize on a strong first period, giving up the game's final five goals to lose 7-2.

Despite the loss, goaltender Brandon Turnbull got MVP honours.

The final round robin game was a wild one with Langley coming back from a 7-3 deficit, only to surrender the tying goal with 13 seconds to go. But the Thunder showed great resolve, netting the winner with six ticks left on the clock.
