Tyler Barlow went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs while Scott Webster had three hits and three RBIs, including a solo home run as the Langley Senior Blaze defeated Burnaby Collegiate 12-5.

The senior men’s baseball game was played Monday (July 4) at Robert Burnaby Park.

The game was much closer than the score indicated as the teams were tied at four heading into the sixth inning.

Langley went ahead when Jesse Peters scored on a bases-loaded walk and the Blaze broke the game wide open in the top of the seventh, scoring seven times.

The big blows were a two-run double from Webster and then a few batters later, a bases-clearing triple from Barlow.

Dylan Rehmke earned the win for his one inning of work.

Altogether, Rehmke, Zachary Davies, Barry Caine, Brandon Marklund and Kristjan Storrie combined on a six-hitter.

Langley is off to Kamloops for the annual Kamloops International Baseball Tournament, which runs July 7 to 10.
