Brooklyn Foster and Mike Krische made big impacts in their first games for the Langley Senior Blaze.
Both players had two hits in their Pacific International League debuts on Wednesday night as the Blaze knocked off the visiting Coquitlam Angels 8-2 at McLeod Park.
The victory snaps a two-game Langley losing streak.
Foster and Krische just joined the Blaze baseball squad — which is made up of collegiate players home for the summer — after playing for Canisius College in New York.
Both players had two hits and a walk, while Foster drove in a pair of runs and Krische had one RBI. He also scored twice.
The Angels led 2-1 after two innings but Brad Ferraro delivered a two-run double in the third inning to put the Blaze ahead for good. Langley added another run in the inning and then tacked on four more in the fourth.
Aaron Dick picked up the victory as he took over on the mound in the third inning and pitched two and and one thirds innings in relief, allowing no runs on four hits.
His earned run average for the season remains 0.00.
Langley is back in action on June 7 when they visit the Burnaby Bulldogs at Robert Burnaby Field.
The Blaze also host the Nanaimo Coalminers on June 9 and the Everett Merchants on June 10. Both doubleheaders are at 1 and 4 p.m. at McLeod Park.
