The Langley Blaze find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they are now looking up at another team in the B.C. Premier Baseball League standings.
The Blaze lost 5-2 to the North Shore Twins on Saturday afternoon in a battle of the league's top two U18 squads.
Langley, which also lost 5-4 on June 11 to the Coquitlam Reds, bounced back to sweep the Fraser Valley Chiefs on Sunday, winning 3-0 and 10-0.
The Blaze are 26-7 on the season, 1.5 games behind North Shore (21-5).
Against the Twins, Langley was done in by one inning as North Shore scored five times in the second inning.
Kyle Ross was tagged with the loss, surrendering all five runs. It was his first loss in six games as his record fell to 4-1. It was also the first time all season he allowed an earned run.
The Blaze turned things around on Sunday with back-to-back shutouts.
Ryan Braun and Tony Pharand combined on a five-hit shutout in a 3-0 win in game one.
Kyle McComb and Luke Horanski had an RBI apiece.
Game two saw Cooper Misic scatter three hits over six innings in a 10-0 victory.
Mitchell Robinson drove in three runs while Connor Chorpita and Andre Pelletier had a pair of RBIs apiece.
Liam Wyatt and Aiden Mordecai had an RBI each.
Langley hosts the North Delta Blue Jays on Thursday (June 19) at McLeod Park. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
