Blaze pitch another goose egg

Three Langley pitchers combined on a two-hitter and Zach Mihic drove in three runs as the Blaze silenced the Vancouver Cannons 11-0.

The U18 baseball clubs met at McLeod Park on Tuesday night, with Langley putting the game away early thanks to four runs in the first inning and another five in the second.

The game was called after the top of the fifth inning.

James Cain allowed two hits in his three innings while Jeremy Filipek and Tom Robson each pitched one-two-three innings.

Bill Germaine had two hits, including a two-run double.

Matt Cratty and Josh Wray also had a pair of RBIs apiece, while Justin Atkinson had two hits and one RBI.

The win improves Langley to 6-2 and five of their victories have come by shutout.
