The Langley Thunder are hoping some home-cooking can cure their early-season struggles.

The senior A lacrosse team plays their home opener at the Langley Events Centre on May 28 after opening the Western Lacrosse Association with three straight road losses.

The most recent of the setbacks was a 15-3 drubbing at the hands of the Maple Ridge Burrards on May 25 at Maple Ridge's Planet Ice.

Langley opened the scoring with a goal from Tyler Melynk before Maple Ridge erupted with seven unanswered goals to close the period.

Melnyk also had the Thunder's final goal with Alex Turner had the other tally.

Riley Loewen led the Maple Ridge attack with four goals and 11 points.

The two teams will complete their home-and-home series at the LEC. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
